“The Windsurfers” - is a metaphor for letting my children go into the world. The life jacket and the windsurf represent the tools: love, support and education. Once on the open seas there is really very little that we can do. It is up to them to get up and pick up the sail.

I chose windsurfing as my metaphor since it is a hard sport completely driven by elements which are not in your control. Wind, waves and under current. There may be too much of it or too little. All these elements can change as you distance yourself from the shore. You only have your board and your sail to manage the wind and waves - the skills and knowledge to weather the elements and manage the challenges.

Water is an integral part of my life. This fluid and ever changing element can be peaceful and at the same time dangerous.
